About the Author

Shawnacy Perez is a freelance and creative writer of fiction, poetry and non-fiction.

In her own words:

Long ago, and far away, in a time halfway between Charlie's Angles and Duran Duran, in a house where the Beatles and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band shook hands with Captain Kangaroo and homemade ice cream, I was born. Since then, I have done some stuff, gone to some places, had a mess of kids, and read scads of books. I have yet to die.

The Lilly Solomon Letters is a kind of funny project for me. I am in the middle of editing three other books, but find myself (always) in need of a creative outlet as well. I can't stop writing entirely in order to edit or my pen (or, more often, keyboard), I find, becomes dull and rusty. So in order to keep me limber and as a sort of a side project, I started to write these little letters. Short. Purely character-driven. Introspective. Loosely strung together. Blah blah. But I thought it would be fun to publish them to a blog, serially, in the tradition of Dickens and the ilk, (no further comparison intended), and have a little fun with it.

So there you have it. The Unrequited Correspondence of Lilly Solomon; or The Lilly Solomon Letters. I'm still in flux about which title I prefer. If one stands out to you, or you have a better suggestion, by all means (for the love of chicken!) let me know.

Thanks for thumbing through the pages,

ps. Because it's come up a few times, I'll say here that it is my intention to post Wednesdays and Sundays.
and that this is a work of FICTION. Just in case you start having ideas...  all for now. -sp
